COURT INFO

The website for the DuPage County Judicial Center provides a great deal of information about how to navigate the deadlines and requirements that people have when they are involved in a court case, as well as such fundamental concerns as where to park and how to get around the building itself. You can CLICK HERE to visit that site. Using the links provided below, you can also peruse through a few of the videos that have been developed by the Clerk of the Circuit Court and courthouse staff to help people navigate through the process, including videos on Coming to the DuPage County Courthouse, How to E-File into an Existing Case, How to E-File a New Case, Preparing for a Court Appearance via Zoom, and Welcome to Jury Duty in DuPage County.

Coming to the DuPage County Courthouse.

This video was developed by the staff of the DuPage County Judicial Center to help people get a sense of what to expect when they come to the courthouse for the first time. The video covers logistics (how to get where you need to be), the rules you'll need to be careful of (you cannot bring cell phones in to the courthouse, for example, unless you have an attorney pass or are there for jury duty), and a few important pointers.

How to File into an Existing Case (e-Filing).

Like the video developed by Tyler Technologies (Odyssey) for filing a new case (below), this video was originally put together for use by attorneys and self-represented litigants with cases in Cook County, Illinois (Chicago). While the same rules and processes apply to cases being filed through the system for DuPage County, you may also want to visit the DuPage County Judicial Center's website for more information (CLICK HERE). The Illinois Supreme Court's website also maintains a website page with guidance on how to e-file in the Illinois court system, which you can get if you CLICK HERE.

Preparing for a Court Appearance via Zoom.

You will want to check the standing order for whatever courtroom your case is assigned to (a "standing order" is an order accessible from the court clerk which a judge has entered to apply to all of the cases before them), and it may depend upon whether you are scheduled for a routine status call or more substantive argument in court, but you can often forego the expense of traveling to the courthouse and appear for proceedings via Zoom. This video provides some advice for such appearances. You can also CLICK HERE for access to the Zoom directory for the DuPage County Judicial Center (where there are links to each courtroom).

Welcome to Jury Duty in DuPage County.

Jury duty is an important part of what we are all expected to do as citizens in a free society and it therefore always bears remembering that, while many people have the same first reaction when they get a jury summons ("how can I get out of this?"), those who serve almost invariably come away from the trials they're assigned to both proud of their work and grateful for the experience. Please note that, at the DuPage County Judicial Center, jurors ARE permitted to bring in camera equipped cell phones, laptops and/or tablets while serving so long as they have their jury summons and photo identification available when they enter the building through security. You can also confirm whether you'll need to appear the night before your scheduled jury service by visiting I-Juror (CLICK HERE) or by calling the  automated phone system at (630) 407-8800 after 5 p.m. the night prior to your service (enter your six–digit juror number and listen to the message in its entirety).
