This website is here to provide you with information and access to some of the legal assistance programs available to self-represented litigants and people who need legal aid in DuPage County, Illinois. The courts in Illinois recognize the importance of access to justice but they also have to apply the same standards and expect compliance with the rules of evidence and procedure by both lawyers and non-lawyers, so it may well make sense to retain a lawyer in DuPage County to represent you (which you can find through the DCBA Lawyer Referral Service). If you can't afford a lawyer or if you're planning to represent yourself for other reasons, in turn, the resources discussed on this website will hopefully prove useful.
